EAA Chapter 864 Young Eagle Flights Information
How do I get to the event?
The event is located at St. Louis Regional Airport - 8 Terminal Drive, East Alton IL 62024.
Visitors are encouraged to enter the property from the stop light at at E. Airline Drive. From there, signs will direct you to Terminal Drive Where volunteers will guide you to the vehicle parking areas. For car show participants, please advise the volunteers that you are registering for the car show and they will direct you to the car show field.
If you are an aviator attending the fly-in, coordinate landing with ALN Air Traffic Control Tower and upon taxiing to the Main Ramp, volunteers and marshallers will direct you to parking in the available areas.
What is the cost for the event?
The event is free for all spectators. The only costs are associated with registration for participants in the car show ($20), food and drinks from any of our vendors, as well as any purchases from the Bethalto Farmers Market.
All bounce houses are free but require adult supervision.
Viewing the car show is free.
Viewing the planes on the tarmac is free.
What aircraft will be there?
We welcome and encourage all aviator visitors. Currently those planning to attend include:

- Arch 1 Medical Helicopter
Beyond this list, there will be numerous general aviation aircraft on display. You never know what might show up ...
Is this event rain or shine? What is the weather policy?
Weather can be challenging and this event will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, event coordinators will make announcements cancelling the event on social media and websites., Visist St. Louis Regional Airport on Facebook or stlouisregional.com
Will there be any exhibitors?
Various aviation focused organizations in the industry will be present, including:
- WestStar Aviation
- EAA Chapter 864
- Southwestern Illinois College
- Wome in Aviation
- Civil Air Patrol
- Piston Aviation Flight School
This is not an all-inclusive list as exhibitors continue to register.
Is there shade?
Shade is very limited since there are very few treees at the airport. There will be a dining tent with table and chairs with limited seating capacity. There are no air-conditioned facilities.
Will there be food and drinks?
There will be several food trucks selling food on both Saturday and Sunday. Drink stations will also be available with drink items for purchase..
Can I sit inside an airplane?
While some airplanes will b setup for display and visitors are encouraged to sit inside, we ask that all visitors ask the owner and/or pilot before sitting inside any aircraft.
Guest Aviator Hospitality
There is a complimentary hospitality area for our participating aviators. Ask one of the EAA Chapter 864 volunteers for directions to the area.

What is the cost for the car show and how do I register?
$20 per vehicle. Registration is on-site the day of the event.
